In this space, I invite you to discover how I may be able to assist you in advancing your Business English language skills.  

 

I have always relished words and learning. I am also passionate about supporting others to learn.  Becoming a language teacher felt very natural to me and over almost three decades, I have been privileged to meet people from all walks of life and from all corners of the world, connecting, communicating and creating through the English language.

I am also a coach, author and free-time fundraiser.  Alongside my experience of delivering English language training which holds the communication needs of learners at its core, these are four elements of my life which I bring to you here.

My Professional Journey

Discovering a passion for teaching English to speakers of other languages

While spending a year in the beautiful Ardèche region of France as part of my bachelor's degree, my experience working with school pupils there set me firmly on the path to a career in teaching English to speakers of other languages.  I discovered a passion for creating lessons and helping learners connect more deeply with the English language.  Upon graduating, I qualified with a CertTESOL and spent an exciting and very enjoyable year in the UK teaching adult learners from across the world.

Building competence and confidence in teaching the language of Business English

I was drawn to the challenge of teaching English for business in the Czech Republic and then Germany, before finally settling in Luxembourg.  I gained both the Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (DipTESOL) and the ARELS Professional Sevices LCCIEB Certificate in Teaching English for Business.  The years since have brought me many students of different nationalities and professional backgrounds, from finance to marketing, human resources to IT, law to logistics and education to sport, alongside much experience in designing and delivering learner-centered training courses at all levels of English language competence.

Maintaining a  commitment to my ongoing professional and skills development

I have continued to feel a strong desire to expand my own skills, earning a Diploma in Personal Performance Coaching and later becoming an NLP Practitioner.  I integrate the most relevant aspects of my knowledge of coaching to further support my clients in working towards their language learning goals.
